Also known as pathobiology, pathology is the branch of medicine that examines disease, from origin to cause and effect. In essence, pathology is the area of medical study and science that is imperative to diseases’ diagnoses and treatments.  The road to becoming a pathologist is not short: a pre-requisite is a medical degree plus completion of a two-year foundation term – seven years in total – before study in pathology can commence.
