Radiology is the science of using images (x-rays) to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases. This is an area that has benefited greatly from technological advances in recent years; imaging has become clearer, allowing radiologists to carry out treatments that are image led, such as guidance of a needle path without the need for surgery. Before training to qualify as a radiologist, it is paramount that the candidate has a thorough grounding in both surgery and medicine.
